Safeguarding by design

A welcoming space.
Thoughtful boundaries.

Safeguarding is a central design consideration for Clubberoo, from family links to communication permissions.

LINKED

Parents remain in the picture.

Junior accounts are linked to a parent or guardian. Communications reaching a junior are also visible to their linked guardian.

RESTRICTED

Participation at the right level.

Juniors can react and acknowledge permitted updates. They cannot publish posts, comments or replies, or use private messaging.

CONTROLLED

Clear roles and membership.

Member, group and role permissions need to reflect your club. Team permissions shape visibility in the football demo. Membership requests need approval, and adult-to-junior private messaging is unavailable.

Design informed
by safeguarding advice.

Signature Horizons works closely with the Chief Executive Officer of the Independent Federation of Safeguarding and draws on their advice when designing community products.

This does not imply certification, accreditation or formal endorsement. Product controls cannot guarantee safety and do not replace a club’s safeguarding policies, training or responsibilities.

A clear route to help.

A club needs a named welfare contact and a reporting route its members understand. The demo’s welfare information links to this guidance. No concern entered anywhere in the demonstration is sent or monitored; use a real club reporting route for a real concern.

For a real concern, use your own club’s published welfare route or the relevant governing body. If someone is in immediate danger in the UK, call 999.

Before any live rollout, review identity checks, guardian linking, membership approval, moderation, escalation and access to sensitive records with the people responsible for safeguarding at the club.

A little less admin. A lot more belonging.
